A Clare veterinary nurse says she’s privileged to have helped nurse a rare green sea turtle back to health.
The turtle washed up on Quilty beach over the festive period, the second ever to do so in Ireland and the first of its kind to survive.
Deep wounds in the turtle’s shell indicated it had survived an attack prior to coming ashore after being taken 3,000 miles off course through the Atlantic.
Founder and Manager of the Hogsprickle Wildlife Rescue Centre in Broadford, Bev Truss, says the experience gained from previous practices aided her in caring for the animal.
