Clare’s Crime Prevention Officer is warning residents not to allow strangers into your home.
It follows reports from a number of homeowners in the county in the past week who were targetted by a couple impsonating a tv licence inspector and a representative from the constituency office of local TD Cathal Crowe.

The man and woman claimed to be checking tv licences in the wake of the recent controversy at RTÉ and the ensuing commentary about the payment of licence fees.
Earlier this week, Deptuy Crowe spoke out about the scam, saying he believes the older demographic in particular are being targetted by these individuals.
Clare’s Crime Prevention Officer, Sergeant Triona Brooks is urging people to be on the lookout for those involved.
