Clare holidaymakers are being advised that they’ll still be able to visit a much-loved tourist destination into the future despite reports to the contrary.
It’s after a letter signed by seven protest groups across the Balearic Islands aimed at dissuading tourists from visiting Majorca was published this week.
The letter states that the island, which saw 18.4 million visitors grace its shores last year, has been “squeezed to unsuspected limits” due to the its continued promotion as a holiday resort.
Ennis travel counsellor Gearoid Mannion claims the letter is merely a bargaining chip intended to put pressure on the region’s politicians to look after its native population.
