Clare Tourism Expects Further Growth In Visitor Numbers

The Chair of Clare Tourism is expecting strong growth in visitor numbers in the county as the year goes on. 

New figures show 1.8 million people visited Ireland between January and March, an increase of more than 16 percent on the figure from 12 months previously.

Trips from North America increased by almost 25 percent, while there was a rise of 17 percent in visitors from Great Britain and 14 percent from other European countries.

Paul Madden says while there does appear to be more visitors in the county so far this year, the coming month will provide a clearer picture of the strength of Clare's tourism industry.
