Clare’s fire brigade is set to benefit from an investment of over half a million euro in a state of-the-art vehicle.
The Ennis unit has this week taken delivery of a new €549,000 Class B Fire Appliance, built on the chassis of a Scania P360, equipped with an 1,800 litre tanker, crash rescue gear, ladders, a generator and portable pump.

Since January, Clare’s 81 firefighters have responded to 1,084 emergency call-outs, which is 22% more than this time last year.
Clare Chief Fire Officer Adrian Kelly says the equipment will ensure first responders can deal with any scenarios.
