Clare is expected to share in a €2.8m economic boost with the advent of a major staging of a soon to be Olympic Sport in the MidWest.
The Obstacle Course World Championships is coming to Limerick in 2026 ahead of its debut in the Los Angeles Olympic Sport in 2028.

Over 4,000 athletes will compete in the event, with families, friends and fans expected to travel to and stay overnight in Clare.
Danielle Devaney of the Shannon Region Conference and Sports Bureau is expecting a significant increase in footfall.
