Concern is being expressed over the difficulty facing social housing tenants in the county who are attempting to purchase their homes.

A meeting of the SPC Housing committee has heard that there currently 2000 local authority houses in Co. Clare and there are a number of routes to available to tenants to buy these from the Council
These include the Tenant Purchase of Apartments Scheme and the Incremental Purchase Scheme
Committee member Dermot Hayes says many people wish to purchase properties, however, regulations on those who wish to do so have been tightened recently.
