Clare Tech Expert Warns International Legislation Will Have To Be Bolstered In Wake Of Grok Controversy

A Clare tech expert believes international legislation will have to be bolstered to ensure AI abuse can’t be facilitated by smaller hosts.

It comes as the nudify mode on the AI chatbot Grok has been disabled, with social media site X saying it will geoblock the ability of its AI chatbot from generating nude images, or of people wearing bikinis or underwear.

The ‘nudify’ mode on Elon Musk’s AI platform is facing criticism from multiple governments around the world, incliding here, following complaints it was being used to create inappropriate, sexualised images of women and children.

Technology Expert with Shannon-based Munster Business, Pat clarke Browne says the bigger companies will have to be the first to be targetted, given the scale of AI engines.
