An Ennis secondary school teacher who has taken in a family from the war torn country of Ukraine has spoken of how the experience has enriched her life.
The family of three is among the 2,500 refugees which have arrived in the country so far, with up to 100,000 expected to arrive in the coming weeks and months in the wake of the ongoing conflict with Russia.
The Red Cross this week launched an online portal for people to offer up accommodation to people fleeing here, with over nine thousand people signing up over the past four days.
Elizabeth Moroney, who’s a teacher at Ennis Community College, took in a family from the Ukraine last Sunday before the appeal was launched and is encouraging others to do the same.
