Fine Gael's coming under increasing pressure after suggestions that the former Minister could be approached to prop up the party after the election.

Labour's Deputy Leader Alan Kelly has ruled out a deal with Michael Lowry as has Fianna Fáil leader Micheal Martin but Taoiseach Enda Kenny has yet to do so.

Clare Fine Gael Deputy Pat Breen says he won't support any deal with the former Minister, saying the days of auction politics are over.

Deputy Breen says a Fine Gael Labour coalition remains the party's preference and that his party's focus must remain on the economic recovery.

Meanwhile, Michael Lowry says he's disappointed that his constituency colleague Alan Kelly has "harangued" him in public.

The Independent TD days any talk of a post-election deal is arrogant.
