The Government has been urged to allow more people to officiate at weddings here, ahead of the beginning of same sex marriages.

Clare Labour TD Michael McNamara has used the Dáil debate on the issue to highlight how couples who opt for a civil marriage will largely only be able to wed during the week.
The East Clare TD says this is because of a lack of resources, but suggested allowing Peace Commissioners to officiate at ceremonies as well when speaking in the Dáil.
