A Clare government TD has described as ‘perverse’ the ongoing refusal of Bank of Ireland and Ulster Bank to pass on the ECB interest rate cut to homeowners.
Labour’s Michael McNamara says it appears that the banks are not in touch with the reality facing homeowners here, and feels they are ‘oblivious’ to the pain going on around them

He says that given the banks have already taken so much money from the taxpayer, that it’s morally wrong not to give some back when given the chance to do so.
