Clare's Fianna Fáil TD insists that the cancellation of over 20 Aer Lingus flights from Shannon has the potential to damage the Mid-West Airport's reputation.
Since October 10th, the airline has cancelled flights to New York, Boston and London, as well as their return legs, because of a shortage of aircraft.
Aer Lingus has defended the decision saying that when it's necessary to cancel flights, it does so within its "long haul schedule, which has the lowest number of bookings on that particular day".
The cancellations have led to anger amongst some in Clare, but Deputy Timmy Dooley says it's important that people don't boycott airlines operating out of Shannon.
