A Clare TD says a 1.2 million euro investment in Raheen Community Hospital indicates a secure future for the facility.
Contracts have been signed for a 375 square-metre extension at the community care facility in Tuamgraney which will include six single rooms, a double room and a new visitors room.

The new extension will bring the facility up to HIQA standards after reports suggested it was one of 21 facilities threatened with closure by the health watchdog.
But Deputy Michael McNamara says the HSE's investment shows a clear committment to elderly care in Clare.
