A Clare Independent TD is making fresh calls for a ‘high level person’ to be nominated by the Government to oversee the transfer of the management of Shannon Heritage sites to Clare County Council.
It’s after it emerged staff at the sites have been told they will be closed for three days a week between January and March.
An inter-departmental group to oversee the transfer has met just four times since May, a matter which has prompted Deputy Michael McNamara to write to Taoiseach Micheál Martin about the issue.
Speaking with Clare FM’s Josh Prenderville, Deputy McNamara says an experienced person with knowledge of both the private and public sector is needed to take charge of the process.
