A Clare Independent TD believes the government has ‘no choice’ but to review the new concrete levy.
The Dáil last evening debated a motion from Sinn Féin calling for the 10% levy to be scrapped, and will vote upon it this evening.

Following a wave of criticism, including from backbench TD’s, the Taoiseach confirmed over the weekend that first-time buyers would be exempt from the tax – however details of how this would work have yet to be made clear.
Independent TD for Clare, Violet-Anne Wynne insists that reviewing the levy can’t delay redress for homeowners affected by pyrite in the county.
