Clare TD Insists Coalition Has More To Achieve As Govt Expected To Survive No Confidence Motion

A Clare government representative insists the coalition has more to achieve despite facing a vote of no confidence in the Dáil tonight.

The Government is expected to survive a motion of no confidence brought forward by Sinn Féin which says it’s failed to deal with crises in the cost of living and on housing.

Donegal Fine Gael TD Joe McHugh, Former Fianna Fáil TD Marc MacSharry and Independent Michael Lowry intend to support the Government, giving the coalition 82 votes, with 80 a majority.

The government has put forward a counter motion of confidence in itself, defending it’s performance over the past two and a half years.

Meelick Fianna Fáil TD Cathal Crowe says the government’s track record speaks for itself.
