The UL Hospitals Group has begun the resumption of scheduled care following three weeks of deferrals as part of an emergency plan to alleviate overcrowding at University Hospital Limerick.

It comes amid the backdrop of a new report from the Irish College of General Practitioners, which shows Clare has 32 fewer GPs for its population size than minimum World Health Organisation recommendations.
