A Clare Fine Gael TD says Clare County Council now needs to "step up to the plate" and deliver social housing here.

Deputy Joe Carey has been speaking in light of the government's announcement of its Housing Action Plan.
It plans to deliver 47,000 social houses within six years, and Taoiseach Enda Kenny says it will deal "fully and finally" with the issue.
Last year, the government announced 26 million euro for social housing in this county, and Deputy Carey says he now wants to see this spent, though he says he is confident this will occur and that homes will be delivered.
