A Clare TD is calling for a boycott of farmers engaging in illegal practices to manipulate land sales.
It’s alleged that a small number of farmers are encouraging unauthorised individuals to occupy land parcels for sale by bringing their ponies into the fields to graze and placing locks on gates.

This practice is understood to be intended to drive down the price of the sites in question and frustrate legitimate sales.
Meelick Fianna Fáil Deputy Cathal Crowe says it’s an “affront” to the farming community.
