A Clare Fine Gael TD is calling for action to be taken at a derelict site that was to be home to one of the county's biggest retail developments of the Celtic Tiger era.
Huge plans were in place for the Cois Fhorgais development in Clarecastle, with permission granted for 25 commercial and 92 residential units.
Some works were carried out before the recession hit, but they weren't completed and receivers Grant Thornton have been appointed after the developers ran into difficulty.
Planning permission for the site has now expired, and Deputy Joe Carey wants to see the property returned as a greenfield site.
