Clare SVP Warning People That Anyone Can Fall Victim To Poverty


The Clare President of Saint Vincent de Paul is warning people that anyone, at any time can find themselves struck by poverty.

The charity has published a report which has found that the rate of in-work poverty among lone parents in Ireland doubled from 2012 to 2017.

It means 1 in 5 single parents live below the poverty line, while 84% were unable to meet unexpected expenses and childcare costs were out of reach for some 60%.
