The Clare branch of St. Vincent de Paul is appealing for donations to help families in need in the lead up to Christmas.

The charity is marking its 170 anniversary of operating in Ireland this week and has 150 volunteers in county Clare.
Spokesperson of the organisation here John Cullinane is urging anyone who needs food or fuel or other supports to contact them and says they will do their best to help.
