Clare SVP claims the increase in the number of people availing of childcare supports is directly related to pressure placed on families by the cost of living crisis.
Figures published by the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth reveal there has been a 90% increase in the number of people benefitting from the National Childcare Scheme in the first six months of the year.

Clare Saint Vincent De Paul president Denis Carty believes the rise in those seeking supports is a result of austerity brought on by inflation.
