The Commission for Energy Regulation has announced that the PSO levy, which is paid on all electricity bills –  is increasing by 20% to 72 euro a year.

As recently as 2011, the same charge was less than 20 euro a year.

John Cullinane of Clare SVP says it will hit those who are already struggling.
