The Superintendent in charge of Shannon has said that they need to lay down a challenge to drug dealers in the county.

Garda Paul Clancy and Garda Diarmuid O’Brien have both been stationed at Shannon Garda Station for two years and will be focusing on communicating with the local people in the area on matters that concern them.

Superintendent Scanlon says that the growing problems of drug use among young people is one area that is being tackled by Gardaí

He says that he hopes the people of Shannon will co-operate with the new community officers and make them part of the town.
