Clare students are being warned that if an offer for a rental property looks too good to be true, then it probably is.

It comes as those returning to college in the Midwest and elsewhere begin looking for accommodation, with expectations that more on campus activity will take place from September.

Gardai have warned students going back to third level could be a target for fraudsters in the coming weeks.
