Judging gets underway at the BT Young Scientist Exhibition in Dublin today – with 550 projects under the microscope.

2000 projects were submitted from schools all over the country – with efforts from North Clare among those to have qualified.
Students from Scoil Mhuire in Ennistymon ask if seaweed extracts can be used in the treatment of acne, while others from Mary Immaculate Secondary School in Lisdoonvarna focus on the changing geography of the Young Scientist competition itself which celebrates it’s 50th year.
