Gardaí have issued a fresh warning about rental scams after a Clare student was conned out of an 11-hundred euro deposit and a month’s rent.
The young woman replied to an advert for accommodation in Galway by email, received a tenancy agreement and subsequently paid the money.

When she attempted to view the apartment, she was told she couldn’t and had since been unable to make contact.
Clare’s Crime Prevention Officer, Sergeant Triona Brooks is advising students to do their homework on rental accommodation before handing over money.
