Clare Specialist Registrar Advises Those In High Risk Groups To Get Covid-19 Spring Booster

A Clare doctor is advising people in high risk groups to get their Covid-19 spring booster to keep the virus at bay.

This comes one week after the World Health Organisation declared that the virus is no longer a global health emergency but should still be considered a public health threat.

The current advice recommends that anyone aged 70 or over, anyone who is a resident of a long-term care facility for older adults or anyone aged 5 or over who has a weak immne system should get the booster.

Clare native and Specialist Registrar Dr Emma Kearney says that case numbers in the Midwest remain high and that the booster should be availed of as a matter of safety.
