Clare’s county solicitor has been elected the new President of the Law Society of Ireland.

Originally from Dundalk in Co. Louth, John Shaw has practiced in Ennis since he qualified in 1984. He is currently a partner in the law firm Michael Houlihan & Partners and serves as solicitor to Clare County Council.
Mr. Shaw has been elected as the head of the Law Society, which has 14,000 members, and will serve a one-year term in the role up until next November.
