A leading member of Sinn Fein in Clare says a candidate for the next general election in this county will be selected ‘as soon as possible’.
The party is now without a TD in this constituency following the resignation of Kilrush-based Independent Deputy Violet-Anne Wynne last week.
Deputy Wynne polled nearly 9,000 first preference votes in Clare in 2020’s General Election, and at the time was this county’s first Sinn Fein TD in a century.
