Clare Short-Term Let Providers Draft Open Letter To Taoiseach Amid Registration Concerns

Clare’s short-term let providers fear their businesses will be decimated if new legislation is passed.

A coalition of concerned stakeholders the county’s tourism industry have sent an open letter Taoiseach Simon Harris around the Registration of Short-Term Letting Bill.

The group claim “unintended and serious harm” will be visited upon accommodation operators if the bill is passed as many may not meet the requirements for retroactive planning permission.

Fred Hannaford, who’s been running Deerpark Holiday Cottages in Killaloe since 1998, suspects if forced to apply for planning permission, he’ll have to cease trading.
