At least 1,000 former customers of Setanta Insurance, based in Clare, have been scrambling to arrange new cover after the company's collapse.

The firm's liquidation, announced yesterday, means 75,000 of it's customers are effectively without insurance.
The collapse mainly affects van drivers, and a large portion of those in Clare would have had their policies arranged by MunsterGroup, which says it's now inundated with queries.
The company has taken steps to arrange seven-day crisis cover with a different company for it's customers, but managing director Padraic McNicholas says many people are very worried.
