A Clare Senator wants a politician from the West to remain in a ministerial role at the Department of Transport after this month’s Cabinet reshuffle.
Martin Conway’s comments come after Minister of State at the Department of Transport Hildegarde Naughton announced €6.8 million in funding for Shannon Airport under the Regional Airports Programme.

It’s been reported that Minister Naughton may be in line for a demotion in the reshuffle which will take place later this month.
Ennistymon-based Fine Gael Senator Martin Conway says it’s important the next incumbent remains committed to Shannon Airport and understands its needs.
