A Clare government Senator has expressed his disappointment that management of UL Hospital’s Group are unable to appear before the Health Committee this week.
Senior management members were scheduled to come before the Oireachtas committee on Friday to answer questions about the ongoing overcrowding crisis at the region’s main hospital.

However, the meeting had to be cancelled after the hospital group’s Chief Executive Officer, Colette Cowan and Chief Clinical Director, Brian Lenehan both took ill.
Ennistymon Fine Gael Senator and member of the health committee, Martin Conway says the committee was reluctant to cancel the meeting due to the severity of the trolley crisis at University Hospital Limerick.
