A Clare senator is expressing “deep concerns” around what she claims is an “all roads lead to Dublin” policy being continued by the Government.
It comes as the Department of Housing has published a draft first revision of the National Planning Framework for public consultation.
The National Planning Framework is the overarching planning framework for Ireland’s social, economic and cultural development to 2040 and states its intention to have a roughly 50:50 distribution of growth between all regions of the country.
The document says that 75% of growth is to be outside of Dublin and its suburbs but speaking in the Seanad, Inagh Green Party Senator Róisín Garvey says based on the draft first revision, this doesn’t seem likely.
