A Clare Senator is calling for the incoming CEO of the HSE to begin work three months early due to the current overcrowding crisis.
Current Tusla CEO and former Chief Officer of HSE Mid-West Community Healthcare Bernard Gloster is due to start in the role in April, with Stephen Mulvaney currently heading up the health executive on an interim basis.
University Hospital Limerick is to begin outpatient appointments again today following last week’s cancellations, though other measures implemented to ease overcrowding are set to continue.
Ennistymon-based Fine Gael Senator Martin Conway, who’s his party’s Seanad spokesperson on health, says Mr Gloster’s knowledge of the region will be an advantage when he begins work.
