Clare’s Green Party Senator is calling for credit unions to be ‘front and centre’ of a new cheap loan scheme to be made available to businesses from the summer.
The Loan Guarantee Scheme Bill will make up to €330 million of lending available to help food, farm and fishing businesses which are continuing to respond to Brexit.

Companies with up to 499 employees will be able to avail of between €25,000 and €1.5 million in loans at discounted interest rates.
Inagh-based Green Senator Roisin Garvey wants credit unions to be at the heart of the initiative.
