Clare Senator Believes Ireland Making Slow Progress With Offshore Wind Energy

An East Clare Oireachtas member believes Ireland is making slow progress when it comes to the delivery of offshore wind energy.

The Shannon Economic Taskforce’s report published in June of this year found that this region has the potential to harvest 30GW of offshore green electricity by 2050.

Mountshannon Senator Timmy Dooley has called on the the government to create a unit within the Industrial Development Authority tasked with coordinating the activity of all stakeholders involved in securing offshore wind.
