The price of a home in Clare has risen by almost 20% in the space of a year.
Figures released by the Central Statistics Office show the average cost of a house in the Banner county now stands at just over €275,000.
There was a €40,450 increase seen in the cost of a home in this county between December 2023 and 2024.
This brings the average hosue price in the county to €275,246, down slightly from the €280,554 in November last year.
The biggest increase was seen in the county town, where the average price recorded was €308,306, up 20% from €255,639 at the end of 2023.
This was however a decrease from the prices seen at the end of November, where a home was worth an average €320,296.
Similar price rises were seen in Shannon, where a home cost an average of €320,000, up 16% in a year, representing an over €50,000 increase.
Meanwhile in Kilrush, prices rose by 9% to €197,431, a significant decrease from November’s average of over €235,000.
In total in December last year, 70 purchases were executed in the county while a further 90 filings to purchase a dwelling were completed.
