A Clare Seafood business has been issued with a food enforcement order.
The Food Safety Authority of Ireland has ordered the Burren Smokehouse in Lisdoonvarna to withdraw certain batches of its products with immediate effect.
The FSAI has made the order being of the opinion that “the activities handling, processing, disposal, manufacturing, storage, distribution or selling of the affected batches are likely to involve a serious risk to public health.
The prohibition order was served on February 13th.
The FSAI issued four particular reasons for making the order including a “Failure to produce records required by an authorised officer on the 22nd October 2024” and a “Failure to notify the competent authority of the presence of Listeria monocytogenes.”
