A roundabout safety course for older motorists in Ennis and a Kilrush boutique bringing fashion to the nursing home have been nominated for national age friendly awards.
In April, the Clare Vintage and Classic Car Club in conjunction with Gardaí hosted practical driving demonstrations for older people at Ennis Marts.

Also this year, Maggie Cronin Owner of The Family Store in Kilrush championed the Rocking the Rails initiative which brought the latest fashion trends to nursing home residents in the town.
Clare Age Friendly Programme Manager Shanelle Waring says the initiatives have been hugely beneficial.
