Clare Road Safety Working Group Member Deems Meelick To Ardnacrusha Road “Not Fit For Purpose”

A member of the Clare Road Safety Working Group is claiming the Meelick Road in Ardnacrusha is “not fit for purpose”.

A motion has been submitted to Shannon Municipal District to install road markings and to explore the possibility of widening the public L3056 road in the south-east Clare village.

It’s understood the ongoing Killaloe bypass project is causing a higher volume of truck drivers looking to access a neaby quarry, with upwards of 300 trucks using the road daily.

 

Ardnacrusha Fianna Fáil Councillor Rachel Hartigan says many of these truck drivers are unfamiliar with the road which is causing delays and safety concerns amongst locals.
