Clare retailers saw their volume of sales increase in the month leading up to Christmas compared to November.
Sales jumped by 14.3 percent, with all sectors except bars, stationary, department stores and fuel seeing sales greater than they had in February 2020 according to the CSO.
Clothing and footwear sales increased by 160 percent, though retailers in this county say high volumes of sales did not necessarily translate into high turnover.
