40 of the 2,013 surveyed in this county in the third quarter of 2023 were given an ‘A’ BER rating – the measure of a buildings energy efficiency- representing 2% of the overall total.

Both Leitrim and Westmeath also recorded a 2% ‘A’ rating of their total buildings surveyed. However with drastically more buildings surveyed in this county, Clare recorded the lowest proportion of ‘A’ ratings in Ireland.

The 40 ‘A’ ratings is meanwhile, over double the amount seen last year. When 19 buildings were awarded the highest grade in Q3 of 2023.

30% of the buildings surveyed received a ‘C’ rating, the highest percentage of any grade awarded here, representing 603 buildings who received either a C1,C2 or C3 rating.

However, the 12% of buildings awarded a ‘G’ grade was the joint highest of any individual grade.

242 buildings received what is the lowest possible grade, while the same number was also seen in the amount of buildings that received a ‘D1’ BER rating.
