Clare Records Lowest Percentage Of A BER Ratings For Non Domestic Buildings

Clare has recorded the lowest percentage of non domestic buildings awarded an A BER rating in the country.

The Central Statistics Office’s figures for the third quarter of the year show 2% of premises in the county were awarded the highest grade.

In total, 2,135 buildings were assessed in the county, with just 43 of these deemed worthy of an A grade.

The majority of premises were judged to to be mid-range, with 30% receiving a C1, C2 or C3 grade, representing 641 of the total.

The county also recorded a high percentage of the lowest possible rating as 11% of buildings were given a G rating.

Meanwhile, a further 34% recorded a grade on the lower end of average, with 726 premises awarded a D, E or F BER rating.

Sporting facilities again proved to be the greatest energy users in the county, racking up 663,457 kilowatt hours across the year so far.

The data also shows electricity was the most popular heating system fuel at 58%, while just 2% opted for LPG.
