The rate of road deaths in Clare last year was amongst the lowest in Ireland.

Figures from the Department of Transport show only Dublin had a lower rate of road deaths, and that the figure here was 40% of the national average.
Meanwhile, 13 drivers here were disqualified from driving because they had obtained 12 penalty points, up from 7 the year before.
