Clare has recorded the highest rate of incidents causing accidental damage to gas pipelines nationwide.
New data shows there were six accidental third party hits to gas distribution pipelines in this county in 2024 which was more per metre than any other county.

A total of 337 requests were made to Gas Networks Ireland’s ‘Dial Before You Dig’ service from Clare across the 12-month period which was up 12% on 2022.
