Clare has recorded the highest increase in house prices nationally in the first half of 2022.
The latest report from Institute of Professional Auctioneers and Valuers shows that prices in Clare soared by nearly 11% when compared to the last six months of 2021.
The Residential Property Price Barometer records prices actually achieved by auctioneers rather than asking prices – providing a more accurate insight into the housing market in Clare.
The report compares prices from the second half of 2021 with the first half of 2022 and shows that this county saw the largest increase overall with an increase of 10.63%.
This compares to the average increase of just over 6% nationally.
The largest price rise was recorded in the amount paid for a three-bed semi in the banner – which jumped by nearly 12% from €206,250 in 2021 to €230,000 this year.
A two-bedroom apartment in the banner set buyers back by over €120,000 last year, but cost €133,000 this year – a rise of 10.6%.
Finally a four-bed semi in this county is nearly 10% more expensive now with prices rising from €260,000 to €285,000.
